Nutrition and Health Coaching with Jan Lloyd

Sticky notes with various personal goals and resolutions written on them.

My Story that brought me here...

Middle-aged woman with short brown hair and a burgundy scarf, looking thoughtfully at the camera.

I am a UKIHCA-RHC, FNTP Nutrition and Health Specialist with over 25 years of experience in the holistic health industry, working in my own practice, the NHS, and private clinics.

I believe in a person-centred approach and always respect and appreciate your individuality. My health coaching sessions are tailored for you, and I am here to steer and guide you on your preferred journey.

Having personally experienced menstrual issues throughout my life, I understand the challenges women face, especially during menopause health transitions. The perimenopause and menopause hit me, but I was fortunate to navigate these changes naturally with food and homeopathy. My experiences have given me empathy for the difficulties we encounter as women, including those related to ADHD in women, which often go unrecognized.

In 2023, after being diagnosed with a DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis) in my left leg, I took it as a sign to reassess my life and make significant changes. I resigned from my desk job at a clinic, realizing that not moving enough between client appointments was likely a contributing factor. I began completing 10,000 steps every day, sometimes more, embracing the great outdoors. I even completed the 1 million step challenge with Diabetes UK for accountability and charity.

As I re-evaluated my diet, I recognized the importance of nutrition coaching to avoid complacency and made further improvements. I successfully reduced the menopausal and post-menopausal waist bulge that had accumulated and now love my new shape.

From my experience working in an ADHD clinic, I was aware that women with ADHD are often overlooked because they do not meet male-based diagnostic criteria. Little support is available when women with ADHD start experiencing perimenopause or menopause, and I vowed to make myself available to guide women through this tricky time.

By achieving an Accreditation as an Integrated Nutrition and Health Coach, I am able to encompass all my years of training and experience in health coaching, ready to help others on their journey.

OH, BUT I DONT HAVE THE TIME TO COOK AND EAT HEALTHY MEALS..

Mediterranean meal with pita, hummus, salad, yogurt dip, and fresh herbs on a wooden table.

Do you find yourself opening the fridge door in the early evening, too tired to think or plan a meal, and reaching for quick food or the takeaway menu? Do you feel like you're managing a 'cafe style menu' because everyone in the house wants different meals? Do you wish you could come home after work and discover your meal is almost ready to eat? Do you recognize these frustrations?

With the emphasis on maintaining a healthy balanced diet, especially for women dealing with ADHD or menopause health, it's challenging when you struggle to decide what to cook for the whole family. Often, without a meal plan, you end up ordering takeout, which can quickly add up and is typically filled with processed foods—not ideal for your growing family or your overall health.

As a nutrition coach, I can help you explore the types of meals that would suit you and your family if you had more time and knowledge. I can also share ideas on how to be more organized with your weekly or monthly shopping to save both time and money.

In this one-off health coaching session, you will receive:

- An initial consultation (60 minutes via video link) to discuss your diet diary that you have previously completed for me.

- Recipe ideas and information handouts.

All of this for just £80.00.

REDUCING THE MEALTIME CHALLENGES WITH CHILDREN WITH adhd/asd

A girl curiously pokes salad with a fork at the table.

Do you notice that your child acts out during mealtimes, eating less to gain more attention? Are you feeling anxious around mealtime, especially with the challenges of ADHD in women affecting your family's dining experience? Do you find that your child's eating issues dominate the dinner table, impacting your other children as well? As parents, we all want our children to grow and thrive, yet children often seek control over their food preferences. When neurodiversity comes into play, including sensitivities to textures and tastes, I can help you view mealtimes differently and establish healthy eating relationships with food and your children. Let’s make it fun! Through my health coaching, I can provide insights on the specific foods beneficial for individuals with ADHD or ASD, focusing on nutrition coaching to enhance focus, concentration, and mood. Together, we can implement strategies to alleviate anxiety surrounding mealtimes. I’ll also share creative ideas to make food preparation enjoyable for the whole family. Join me for an initial consultation (60 minutes by video link) to discuss your diet diary that you have previously completed for me. You’ll also receive recipe ideas as information handouts. All this for just £80.00.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR MENSTRUAL CYCLE, PMS PMDD AND PCOS

Sticky notes with self-care and mental health reminders.

Do you dread 'dragon week,' knowing that during this time, you might feel frustrated with the world and everyone in it?

Do you find that the only way to cope with the anger and misery is to indulge in biscuits and crisps during 'that week'?

Are you experiencing physical discomfort like back pain, bloating, breast tenderness, cramps, headaches, and period pain, making it hard for you to function?

I can help you embrace your body and nourish it with foods that alleviate these dreadful symptoms, especially tailored for women managing ADHD in their lives.

Through health coaching and nutrition coaching, I can guide you towards healthier eating habits, reducing cravings during those 'sofa days.'

I can assist you in aligning with your menstrual cycle to achieve your goals that often seem to slip away throughout the month.

If your GP keeps suggesting that 'your menstrual issues will all change when you have children,' but you've decided not to have children, I can support you in managing your menstrual cycle through to menopause.

Additionally, I can help you understand the connection between your menstrual cycle and ADHD symptoms if you suspect or are diagnosed with ADHD.

- An initial consultation (90 minutes by video link) to discuss your menstrual-related symptoms and their impact on your life.

- Four one-on-one 30-minute sessions via video link.

- Informative handouts.

- Email support with a 24-hour response time outside of weekly sessions.

ADHD in WOMEN

Sketch of a person with ADHD surrounded by chaotic arrows and question marks.

Were you the daydreamer in class, staring out the window and feeling distracted? Did you often leave your homework or assignments until the last minute? Have you struggled with feelings of inadequacy? Do you find it challenging to organize your life or be punctual for appointments and events? Do you notice that you are impulsive with shopping or activities but struggle to control it?

In women, ADHD is often overlooked as they are skilled at masking symptoms to fit in and avoid troubling their families or friends with forgetfulness or disorganization. This is particularly true for ADHD in women, where unique challenges can arise.

I can help women embrace their invisible differences and difficulties while celebrating the talents and qualities that make you uniquely YOU! My program includes health coaching and nutrition coaching tailored to your needs.

I can assist you in understanding why your ADHD symptoms may worsen around your menstrual cycle, particularly during menopause health transitions, and help you manage feelings of extreme anxiety, rage, or depression. Together, we can work on accepting the past, including any missed opportunities from a late diagnosis, and look forward to what you can achieve with your unique self, including weight loss goals.

If you've been offered ADHD medication but found the side effects intolerable, I can help you choose foods that support your well-being during your menstrual cycle and daily life. Additionally, I will provide strategies to reduce clutter in your life and mind, addressing challenges related to organizing, prioritizing, maintaining a routine, and managing time.

Within this comprehensive program, you will receive:

This ensures a thorough approach that can include both health coaching and nutrition coaching.

HOMEOPATHY - LIKE CURES LIKE - How?......

Herbal medicine with mortar, pestle, and homeopathic pills on wooden surface.

As a Naturopathic Health Coach with additional qualifications as a Homeopath, I am equipped to support your journey towards better health, including areas like Menopause Health and ADHD in women, through this complementary therapy.

So, what is homeopathy exactly?

Homeopathy is a form of complementary medicine that assists the body in healing itself from the inside out. Developed in the 1790s by Hahnemann, it is based on the principle that a substance causing symptoms can help alleviate those very symptoms. It is believed that the more a medicine is diluted, the more its essence is retained in the water. While there is considerable controversy regarding the efficacy of homeopathy due to the lack of evidence for the substance itself, many find that you have to feel it to truly believe it.

Consider this: we all know the discomfort of peeling an onion, resulting in runny eyes and a stuffy nose. Homeopathy utilizes Allium cepa (red onion) to address cold and hay fever symptoms, showcasing its holistic approach.

Homeopathy treats the WHOLE PERSON, which means that during a consultation, I will ask many questions about your personality, lifestyle, and other factors to create a complete picture before prescribing a remedy. These remedies are generally safe and rarely produce side effects, making them suitable for various conditions, including those related to stress, skin issues, and even weight loss.

I completed a three-year Homeopathy course in Australia, earning the prestigious Warren Brauer Memorial Award for Excellence in the Study and Application of Homeopathy in 2008. In my practice, I've successfully treated conditions such as hay fever, cold symptoms, depression, stress, infertility, menopausal symptoms, and more.

If you feel ready to explore how homeopathy can complement your health journey, including nutrition coaching and support for menopause, please contact me for further details.
